This summer has been nothing short of spectacular. Yes this post marks the official end to my or everyone’s’ magnificent summer break. From the travelling, the eating, the partying, to the new friendships and the incredible compassionate new relationship, this summer I will treasure for eternity.
At the start of the summer, when my break up was still fresh, I was indeed determined to make this summer different and filled with nothing but fun, instead of just staying at home, feeling abandoned and unloved. My determination persevered until the end as I succeeded to make this summer the best one ever, thanks to everyone here in Kuala Lumpur. Not only have I opened up my heart to someone who loves me like I have never been loved before, but I have also landed many good friends whom I can trust, talk to without feeling like I’ll be judged and can guarantee epic fun. Now why didn’t I find them sooner? Now I look forward to coming home every Uni break! I pity those who don’t make the effort to make friends, are very unsociable or just don’t have many friends here in Kuala Lumpur. If there is one thing I can say, it’s that you are missing the hell out, as these memories are absolutely priceless.
C, R, S, & AAs this summer break draws to a final close, my friends and my new boyfriend in Kuala Lumpur helped me achieve something so important, which I forgot when I was with my ex. It was to forget all my woes and to live life to the fullest without feeling trapped. You’re only 19 once – live a little, don’t hold back – don’t be an old fart just yet! Even with RLYX, he never denied me of having my own fun. In my last post, I said that he makes the relationship so fresh and new that I never ever had to feel pressured about pleasing his friends or him just to keep the spark alive – because they accepted me just the way I am.
I’m not saying I am absolutely perfect, I’m just saying, Cashreyn “Party” Mohd. Azlan is back in “tha hizzay”. So this summer break only made me realise how fast I had picked myself up when I was down I couldn’t have done it without my good friends in KL. I feel good about myself because with them, I feel that I can be myself, and have a good time without feeling insecure or constantly being pressured to be someone I’m not in the effort to please others. These amazing people love the party animal in me and adore the outgoing and sociable person that I am. So for this, I thank you.
Not only do they make me feel loved, accepted and comfortable in my own skin, I feel genuinely proud to be Cashreyn Mohd. Azlan from Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, who doesn’t drive, who goes out clubbing heaps, who lives on the podium in the clubs, and who loves stuffing her face with anything. Period. I love Malaysia. Sure Melbourne is great too. But this is my home. This is my country. People are amazing and food is super amazing. Not to mention cheap! But, although I escape the drama of parents fighting and the sadness to see that my grandmother isn’t coping well with my grandfather’s demise in Melbourne, being in Malaysia means to a lot more to me now that I have experienced something other than just watching DVDs at home…

I lead a very comfortable life here in Malaysia thanks to my parents and grandparents. I am very grateful I live under a beautiful roof, I am dressed and fed very very well and I am very grateful I can travel around the world (in fact my love for travelling will never ever die) let alone study and live in another country all by myself. Now that I know home is where the heart is and how much life is amazing here as well without worrying about the exchange rate all the time, I say cheers to this country, its wonderful people I have met, my boyfriend and the joy and happiness it means to be a KL-lite. I cannot wait to return to KL.

Yes it saddens me to say that this amazing summer break is over, but the memories I will keep forever. It is only one step closer to seeing the man that I love and coming back to those in Malaysia whom I appreciate and will treasure forever. Yes long distance Thank you for a brilliant summer!
